Trans and queer Jamaicans are among the most vulnerable people devastated by Hurricane Melissa — many have lost their homes, safety, and access to basic necessities.
We mobilized to send direct, zero-barrier cash aid straight to those most impacted — organized by queer Jamaicans, for queer Jamaicans, in collaboration with @Connekja, @sapphicja , @ragganyc , @blacktranstravelfund, @papijuicebk , @weoutandbad , @thankgodforabortion .
Together, we raised and distributed $8,540 USD in zero-barrier mutual aid to 61 trans and queer people across the island. Every dollar went directly to someone navigating displacement, loss, and instability — helping them secure food, shelter, transportation, medicine, and the basic safety needed to rebuild.
Thank you to everyone who showed up in this moment: donating, sharing, mobilizing, and standing with trans and queer Jamaicans in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. This collective effort is a clear reminder of what becomes possible when our communities move with urgency, clarity, and deep care.
